Step 1
Find a blouse that you want to stud. I bought this blouse for only $2.99. It's just a really plain cream blouse. I knew I wanted to add gold studs on the collar right when I bought it.
Step 2
You will need to purchase studs. I purchased these gold ones from ebay but it took forever to get here, because it was shipped from China. It was only $5.00 but I found that if you go to studsandspikes.com, you will find inexpensive studs that will ship quickly. I bought silver studs from there and have studded my shorts with them. That will be the next DIY post. I use an old tweezer and it worked fine.
Step 3
(Excuse my chip nailcolor polish)
You can decide how you want to arrange the studs on the collar. You can add a few studs or add a whole bunch like I did. I decided to add a whole bunch because the collar is wide, but you can really do whatever you want with it. Choose your own design and just go with it =) Poke one of the studs through the collar. It shouldn't be hard to poke through.
Step 4
Take the tweezer and and just bend the end of the studs over. Do it to all four of the ends.
Step 5
It should look like this. And after you have added all of the studs, the back should look like the picture below:
Final Step:
Repeat the steps on the other side of the collar. Then you are all done! =)
Here's what mine looks like. I love it. I have the day off from work, so I am going to finish a lot of DIY projects and post them next week.
I also bought a DIY book for homes. I'm so excited to try some of these projects and I love the pictures. So inspiring! I also have a friend, who is an artist, creating some artwork for me. I'm excited cause she is very talented! Well, my next post will be on Sunday. I look forward to reading how Easter went for everybody.
so easy yet effective!

ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
DeleteYou can buy the studs at studsandspikes.com I know I am so thankful for my job but you can studs anywhere. You should try them on the shoulders of your blouse. I think that will look great! Let me know how it turns out for you :)
